Extended Brake Lines: What They Are and Why You Need Them?

Extended Brake Lines For Toyota Applications - What They Are and Why You Need Them

Every Brake Line Pros extended brake line is 100 percent made in the USA.

We use stainless steel construction with a DOT-certified coating, OE-style fittings for easy installation and reliability, and every line is individually inspected and pressure tested to 3000 psi. If there is a leak or any issue with the line, we catch it before it ships.

Why Would I Need Extended Brake Lines?

Even on a normal aftermarket lift that does not add a significant amount of extra down travel, you are still getting close to having tension on the factory brake line at full droop. Extended brake lines are an easy and affordable upgrade for peace of mind, and on certain builds they are an absolute must. If you are not sure how to check your brake line slack at full droop, see the how to measure brake lines guide.

Take a Tacoma with a rear shock relocation for example. Factory Tacoma brake lines are around 16 to 17 inches. Our extended lines for that application are 24 inches. The factory lines simply would not work with that setup.

Even on a two and a half inch lift, extended lines are worth doing. The same principle applies to 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Lexus GX470, Lexus GX460, and any other platform running increased lift height or suspension travel.

For builds with more extreme suspension modifications, including long-travel setups or straight axle swaps, see the long-travel brake line kit and solid axle swap brake line kit. For a custom application, the custom brake line configurator is the best starting point.
